This project was an opportunity to fill the gap between academics and company expectations. It gaves me the opportunity to implement my academic knowledge in a business environment. The goal was to develop an augmented reality application to improve the cultural experience of the users. I have been able to take advantage of my double master’s degree: engineer in imaging modeling & computing, and management of innovative projects

Today, the presence of media libraries in the digital world is only made through their websites and their online catalogs. These tools only show us the documents that can be found in the library space, but the location of these documents in the library is indicated by a rating system that is relatively difficult to understand by users.

The application could be a media library extension and it offers a dematerialized space, accessible 24 hours a day. This innovative project aims to create semantic and thematic bridges between physical spaces and virtual contents, using the possibilities of augmented reality and indoor geolocation. The use of spatial guidance and mapping tools will offer users a new experience of the place.

Project Summary

Discovery and Use of the Vuforia SDK:

Geolocation Testing:

Object Occlusion: 

  • The object occultation refers to the phenomenon where one object is blocked or hidden from view by another object. In general, occultation occurs when the line of sight between an observer and an object is obstructed by another object, causing the first object to be hidden from view.
